MATCH & DECIDE
Try Linen vs. Shirting Cottons →The app rates Shirting Cottons a Good substitute for Linen for lightweight shirts, dresses and soft tailoring. The surface, feel and care still matter.
Start with one fabric to see ranked alternatives. Open a suggestion—or choose your own second fabric—to compare structure, sewing setup and care.

FABRIC IMPACT
Every fabric’s Impact tab gives it two scores, Eco and Sustainability, explains the reasons, and names lower-impact options where there are any.
Eco looks at what it takes to make the material. Sustainability looks at how long it lasts, how it is cared for and what happens to it afterwards. Both run 1 to 5 on the same chart, so you can see at a glance where a fabric does well and where it doesn’t.
Scores are guidance for the material and fabric version—not a certification of an individual bolt.
